Method

Preparation

  1. 1

    Prepare the Chicken

If not already cooked, grill the chicken breasts over medium heat until fully cooked, about 6-7 minutes per side. Ensure internal temperature reaches 165°F (75°C). Let rest before slicing.

  2. 2

    Prepare the Bread

Slice the panini bread or ciabatta rolls in half horizontally. Spread Dijon mustard on the bottom half and mayonnaise on the top half.

Assembling the Panini

  1. 3

    Layer Ingredients

On the bottom half of the bread, layer the grilled chicken, followed by the sliced ham, and then top with Swiss cheese.

  2. 4

    Add Optional Garnish

If desired, add a handful of fresh arugula or spinach and a few slices of tomato on top of the Swiss cheese.

  3. 5

    Close the Panini

Place the top half of the bread over the layered ingredients to close the sandwich.

Grilling the Panini

  1. 6

    Grill the Panini

Preheat a panini press or a grill pan over medium heat. If using a grill pan, lightly oil it to prevent sticking. Place the assembled panini on the grill and cook for about 4-5 minutes, or until the bread is golden brown and the cheese is melted.

  2. 7

    Serve

Remove the panini from the grill, let it cool slightly, then slice in half and serve immediately.
