Method

Preparing the Burger Patty

  1. 1

    Mix Ingredients

In a mixing bowl, combine ground beef, salt, black pepper, garlic powder, and onion powder. Use your hands to mix until well combined.

  2. 2

    Form Patties

Divide the mixture into two equal portions and shape each portion into a patty that is about ¾ inch thick.

  3. 3

    Preheat Grill or Pan

Preheat a grill or skillet over medium-high heat. Lightly oil the surface to prevent sticking.

  4. 4

    Cook Patties

Once the grill or pan is hot, place the patties on it. Cook for about 4-5 minutes on one side, then flip and cook for an additional 3-4 minutes on the other side for medium doneness.

  5. 5

    Add Cheese

During the last minute of cooking, place a slice of cheddar cheese on each patty and cover to melt.

Assembling the Burger

  1. 6

    Prepare Vegetables

Wash the lettuce leaves and slice the tomato into thick rounds.

  2. 7

    Toast Buns

If desired, toast the burger buns on the grill or in a toaster until lightly golden.

  3. 8

    Build the Burger

On the bottom half of each bun, place a lettuce leaf followed by the burger patty with melted cheese. Top with a slice of tomato and cover with the top half of the bun.
