Preparation
- 1
Slice Ingredients
Begin by slicing the fresh mozzarella cheese into 1/4-inch thick rounds. Next, slice the tomatoes into similar thickness.
- 2
Prepare Ciabatta Bread
Cut the ciabatta bread slices in half horizontally to create a top and bottom for the panini.
Assembly

Layer Ingredients
On the bottom half of each ciabatta slice, layer the mozzarella slices, followed by the sliced tomatoes, and then the fresh basil leaves. Drizzle balsamic glaze over the top, and season with salt and black pepper to taste.
- 4
Top the Panini
Place the top half of the ciabatta bread over the assembled ingredients to complete the sandwich.
Cooking
- 5
Grill the Panini
Preheat a grill pan or panini press over medium heat. Brush the outside of the sandwich with olive oil. Place the panini on the grill and cook for about 3-5 minutes, or until the bread is golden brown and crispy, and the cheese has melted.
- 6
Serve
Once cooked, remove the panini from the grill, let it cool for a minute, then slice in half if desired. Serve warm and enjoy!
