Method

Preparing the Burger Patty

  1. 1

    Mix Ingredients

In a large bowl, combine the ground beef, salt, black pepper, garlic powder, and onion powder. Mix until just combined.

  2. 2

    Form Patties

Divide the mixture into two equal portions and shape each portion into a patty, about 3/4 inch thick.

Cooking the Bacon

  1. 3

    Cook Bacon

In a skillet over medium heat, cook the bacon slices until crispy, about 5-7 minutes. Transfer to a paper towel-lined plate to drain excess fat.

Cooking the Burger

  1. 4

    Cook Patties

In the same skillet, increase the heat to medium-high. Cook the burger patties for 4-5 minutes on each side for medium doneness.

  2. 5

    Add Cheese

In the last minute of cooking, place a slice of cheddar cheese on each patty and cover the skillet to melt the cheese.

Assembling the Burger

  1. 6

    Toast Buns

If desired, toast the burger buns in the skillet until golden brown.

  2. 7

    Build the Burger

On the bottom half of each bun, layer the lettuce, tomato slice, the cooked burger patty with melted cheese, bacon, pickles, ketchup, and mustard. Top with the other half of the bun.
