Steak Tartare Ingredients

Method

Steak Tartare Directions

  1. 1

    Prepare the Slow-Cooked Egg

Fill a pot with water and bring it to a gentle simmer. Carefully add the eggs and cook for about 45 minutes. After cooking, remove the eggs and place them in an ice bath to cool. Once cooled, carefully crack and peel the eggs, keeping the yolk intact.

  2. 2

    Prepare the Tenderloin

Using a sharp knife, finely chop the tenderloin steak into small pieces. It should be finely minced but not pureed. Transfer to a mixing bowl.

  3. 3

    Mix the Tartare

To the bowl with minced steak, add Dijon mustard, capers, finely chopped shallot, parsley, Worcestershire sauce, salt, and black pepper. Mix gently but thoroughly to combine all the ingredients.

  4. 4

    Form the Tartare

Using a ring mold or simply a spoon, shape the tartare mixture into a neat round on a plate.

  5. 5

    Serve

Drizzle olive oil over the tartare and place the slow-cooked egg on top. Serve immediately with toasted bread or crackers on the side.
