Limoncello Preparation
- 1
Infuse the Vodka
In a large glass jar, combine the lemon zest and vodka. Seal the jar tightly and let it sit in a cool, dark place for about 7 to 10 days. Shake the jar gently every couple of days to help infuse the flavors.
- 2
Make the Simple Syrup
After the infusion period, combine the water and granulated sugar in a saucepan. Heat over medium heat, stirring until the sugar has completely dissolved. Allow the syrup to cool.
- 3
Combine and Strain
Once the syrup is cool and the vodka has infused, strain the vodka through a fine-mesh sieve or cheesecloth into a clean bottle, discarding the lemon zest. Mix the infused vodka with the simple syrup, adjusting sweetness to taste.
