Remove the membrane from the back of the ribs. Rinse the ribs under cold water and pat them dry with paper towels.

In a bowl, mix together brown sugar, paprika, garlic powder, onion powder, salt, and black pepper to create a dry rub.

Rub the dry rub mixture evenly over both sides of the ribs. Cover the ribs and let them marinate in the refrigerator for at least 1 hour, preferably overnight.
