Method

Preparation

1

Preheat the Oven

Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and grease a 9x9 inch baking pan or line it with parchment paper.

2

Mix Dry Ingredients

In a large mixing bowl, whisk together the all-purpose flour, cocoa powder, granulated sugar, baking powder, and salt until well combined.

3

Melt Butter

In a small saucepan, melt the unsalted butter over low heat. Remove from heat and let it cool slightly.

4

Combine Wet Ingredients

In another bowl, whisk together the melted butter, eggs, and vanilla extract until smooth.

5

Combine Wet and Dry Mixtures

Pour the wet ingredients into the dry ingredients and stir until just combined. Do not overmix.

6

Add Optional Ingredients

If using, fold in the chocolate chips and chopped walnuts into the batter.

7

Transfer to Baking Pan

Pour the brownie batter into the prepared baking pan and spread it evenly.

Baking

8

Bake the Brownies

Bake the brownies in the preheated oven for 20-25 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out with a few moist crumbs.

9

Cool and Serve

Once baked, remove the brownies from the oven and let them cool in the pan for about 10 minutes. Then, cut into squares and serve warm.
