Method

Prepare Taco Shells

  1. 1

    Choose Your Shell

Select either soft or hard taco shells based on your preference. For soft, warm them up in a skillet over medium heat for about 30 seconds on each side until pliable. For hard shells, place them directly on a baking sheet and heat in a preheated oven at 350°F (175°C) for about 5-7 minutes.

Cook Protein

  1. 2

    Ground Beef

In a skillet over medium heat, cook 1 pound of ground beef until browned, about 7-10 minutes. Drain excess fat, then add 2 tablespoons of taco seasoning, and a splash of water. Stir well and simmer for 5 minutes.

  2. 3

    Chicken Breast

Cook 1 pound of chicken breast in a skillet over medium heat for about 6-7 minutes per side until fully cooked. Let it cool, then shred the chicken with two forks. Mix in 2 tablespoons of taco seasoning to combine.

  3. 4

    Black Beans

Open the can of black beans, rinse them under cold water, and heat in a small saucepan over medium heat until warmed through, about 5 minutes. Add salt and pepper to taste.

Assemble Tacos

  1. 5

    Build Your Taco

Take your chosen taco shell and fill it with your preferred protein (ground beef, shredded chicken, or black beans). Top with shredded lettuce, diced tomatoes, shredded cheese, a dollop of sour cream, a spoonful of salsa, slices of avocado, and a sprinkle of chopped cilantro.

Serve

  1. 6

    Enjoy Your Tacos

Serve the tacos on a platter with extra toppings on the side. Enjoy with your favorite beverage!
