Method

Salad Preparation

  1. 1

    Cook the Bacon

In a skillet over medium heat, cook the bacon slices until crispy, about 6-8 minutes. Remove from heat and place on paper towels to drain excess grease. Once cooled, chop into bite-sized pieces.

  2. 2

    Prepare the Greens

In a large salad bowl, add the mixed greens as the base.

  3. 3

    Add the Other Ingredients

Slice the avocado and red onion thinly. Add the avocado, red onion, hearts of palm (sliced), cotija cheese (crumbled), and toasted almonds to the bowl with mixed greens.

  4. 4

    Add the Bacon

Sprinkle the chopped bacon over the top of the salad.

Cider Vinaigrette Preparation

  1. 5

    Mix the Vinaigrette

In a small bowl or jar, combine apple cider vinegar, olive oil, honey, Dijon mustard, salt, and black pepper. Whisk together or shake well until emulsified.

  2. 6

    Dress the Salad

Drizzle the cider vinaigrette over the salad just before serving. Toss gently to combine all ingredients and distribute the dressing evenly.
