Cinnamon Sugar Coating

Method

Prepare the Dough

  1. 1

    Combine Ingredients

In a medium saucepan, combine 1 cup of water, 2 tablespoons of unsalted butter, 1 tablespoon of granulated sugar, and 1 teaspoon of salt. Heat over medium heat until the mixture comes to a boil.

  2. 2

    Add Flour

Once the water mixture is boiling, remove it from heat and quickly stir in 1 cup of all-purpose flour. Mix until a dough forms and pulls away from the sides of the pan.

  3. 3

    Add Eggs

Let the dough cool for a few minutes, then add 2 large eggs one at a time, mixing well after each addition until the dough is smooth and glossy.

Prepare Cinnamon Sugar

  1. 4

    Mix Cinnamon Sugar

In a shallow dish, combine 1 cup of granulated sugar and 2 tablespoons of ground cinnamon. Mix until well combined and set aside.

Fry the Churros

  1. 5

    Heat Oil

In a deep frying pan or pot, heat 4 cups of vegetable oil over medium-high heat until it reaches 350°F (175°C).

  2. 6

    Pipe Churros

Transfer the dough to a piping bag fitted with a large star tip. Once the oil is hot, carefully pipe strips of dough directly into the hot oil, cutting them to your desired length with scissors.

  3. 7

    Fry Until Golden

Fry the churros for about 2-3 minutes on each side or until golden brown. Use a slotted spoon to remove them from the oil and drain on paper towels.

  4. 8

    Coat in Cinnamon Sugar

While still warm, roll the fried churros in the cinnamon sugar mixture until fully coated.
