Method

Chips

  1. 1

    Prepare the Tortillas

Cut each corn tortilla into 6 equal wedges to form chips.

  2. 2

    Heat the Oil

In a large frying pan, heat the vegetable oil over medium-high heat until it shimmers.

  3. 3

    Fry the Chips

Carefully add the tortilla wedges to the hot oil in batches. Fry until they are golden and crispy, approximately 2-3 minutes per batch.

  4. 4

    Drain and Season

Use a slotted spoon to remove the chips from the oil, and place them on paper towels to drain. Immediately sprinkle with salt to taste.

Salsa

  1. 5

    Chop the Vegetables

Dice the tomatoes and onion finely. Remove the seeds and ribs from the jalapeño and chop it finely. Chop the fresh cilantro.

  2. 6

    Combine Ingredients

In a mixing bowl, combine the diced tomatoes, onion, jalapeño, and cilantro.

  3. 7

    Add Lime and Seasoning

Squeeze the juice of the lime over the mixture and season with salt to taste. Mix well.

  4. 8

    Let the Salsa Rest

Allow the salsa to sit for at least 15 minutes to let the flavors meld together before serving.
