Cocktail

Method

Prepare Glass

1

Rim the glass

Run the lime wedge around the outside rim of a rocks or margarita glass. Dip the rim into a shallow plate of coarse salt or Tajín to coat. Set glass aside.

Make Cocktail

2

Fill a cocktail shaker with ice (about 1 cup).

3

Add 2 oz Patrón Silver tequila, 1 oz triple sec, 1 oz pomegranate juice, and 1 oz house-made citrus sour to the shaker. (If you do not have house-made citrus sour: add 0.5 oz fresh lime juice and 0.25 oz simple syrup in its place; then proceed.)

4

Secure the shaker lid and shake vigorously for 12–15 seconds until the outside of the shaker is cold and condensation forms. This chills and dilutes the cocktail to proper balance.

5

Fill the rimmed glass with fresh ice (or use the same ice if preferred). Strain the cocktail from the shaker into the prepared glass over the ice using a Hawthorne strainer or fine strainer to catch any shards.

Finish & Garnish

6

Float or sprinkle 1 tablespoon pomegranate seeds on top or place a lime wheel on the rim for visual appeal.

7

Serve immediately with a short stirring straw. Advise guests to taste and, if desired, adjust sweetness with a small splash (about 0.25 oz) of simple syrup.
