Method

Prepare the Coffee

  1. 1

    Brew the Coffee

Brew 1 cup of strong coffee and let it cool to room temperature. Once cooled, stir in 2 tablespoons of coffee liqueur.

Prepare the Mascarpone Filling

  1. 2

    Mix the Egg Yolks

In a mixing bowl, whisk together 4 large egg yolks and 1 cup of granulated sugar until thick and pale in color.

  2. 3

    Add Mascarpone

Carefully fold in 16 ounces of mascarpone cheese into the egg yolk mixture until smooth and well combined.

  3. 4

    Whip the Cream

In a separate bowl, whip 1 cup of heavy cream until stiff peaks form.

  4. 5

    Combine Mixtures

Gently fold the whipped cream into the mascarpone mixture, then add 1 teaspoon of vanilla extract and mix until just combined.

Assemble the Tiramisu

  1. 6

    Soak the Ladyfingers

Quickly dip each ladyfinger into the coffee mixture, making sure they are soaked but not soggy.

  2. 7

    Layer the Ingredients

In a 9x13 inch dish, arrange a layer of soaked ladyfingers on the bottom. Spread half of the mascarpone filling over the ladyfingers. Repeat with another layer of soaked ladyfingers and the remaining mascarpone filling.

  3. 8

    Chill

Cover the dish with plastic wrap and refrigerate for at least 4 hours, or overnight for best results.

Serve

  1. 9

    Garnish and Serve

Before serving, dust the top with 2 tablespoons of unsweetened cocoa powder and sprinkle with dark chocolate shavings. Cut into squares and enjoy!
