Method

Preparing the Batter

  1. 1

    Mix Dry Ingredients

In a large bowl, whisk together the all-purpose flour, baking powder, sugar, and salt until well combined.

  2. 2

    Mix Wet Ingredients

In another bowl, whisk together the milk, egg, melted butter, and vanilla extract until smooth.

  3. 3

    Combine Mixtures

Pour the wet ingredients into the dry ingredients and stir gently until just combined. Be careful not to overmix; a few lumps are fine.

Cooking the Pancakes

  1. 4

    Preheat the Pan

Heat a non-stick skillet or griddle over medium heat. You can lightly grease it with butter or oil if desired.

  2. 5

    Pour Batter

Using a ladle or measuring cup, pour about 1/4 cup of batter onto the skillet for each pancake.

  3. 6

    Cook Until Bubbles Form

Cook the pancakes for about 2-3 minutes, or until bubbles start to form on the surface and the edges look set.

  4. 7

    Flip and Cook

Flip the pancakes and cook for an additional 1-2 minutes, or until golden brown and cooked through.

  5. 8

    Repeat

Repeat with the remaining batter, adjusting the heat as necessary to avoid burning.

Serving

  1. 9

    Serve Warm

Stack the pancakes on a plate, drizzle with maple syrup, and top with fresh berries. Serve immediately.
