Method
Preparing the Bread
- 1
Preheat the Oven
Preheat your oven to 400°F (200°C) to prepare for toasting the bread.
- 2
Slice the Baguette
Cut the baguette into 1/2-inch thick slices on a diagonal.
- 3
Brush with Olive Oil
Place the baguette slices on a baking sheet. Brush one side of each slice with olive oil.
- 4
Add Garlic
Peel and lightly crush the garlic cloves. Rub the crushed garlic over the oiled side of the bread slices for flavor.
- 5
Toast the Bread
Toast the bread in the preheated oven for about 5-7 minutes, or until golden brown. Keep an eye on it to avoid burning.
Preparing the Topping
- 6
Chop the Tomatoes
Dice the tomatoes into small pieces and place them in a mixing bowl.
- 7
Add Basil and Mozzarella
Chop the fresh basil leaves and add them to the bowl with the tomatoes. Tear the mozzarella into small pieces and add to the mixture.
- 8
Season the Mixture
Drizzle the balsamic vinegar over the tomato mixture. Add salt and black pepper to taste, and gently toss everything together until well combined.
Assembling the Bruschetta
- 9
Top the Toasted Bread
Once the bread is toasted, remove it from the oven and let it cool slightly. Spoon the tomato and mozzarella mixture generously over the toasted side of each bread slice.
- 10
Serve Immediately
Serve the bruschetta warm as an appetizer or snack, and enjoy!
