Method

Prepare the Tiramisu Base

  1. 1

    Brew the Espresso

Brew 240 ml of strong espresso coffee and let it cool to room temperature.

  2. 2

    Mix with Liqueur

In a shallow dish, combine the cooled espresso with 60 ml of coffee liqueur.

  3. 3

    Dip Ladyfingers

Quickly dip each ladyfinger into the espresso mixture, ensuring they are soaked but not soggy. Layer them in the bottom of a 9x13 inch dish.

Make the Mascarpone Mixture

  1. 4

    Whip the Cream

In a mixing bowl, whip 240 ml of heavy cream until stiff peaks form. Set aside.

  2. 5

    Combine Egg Yolks and Sugar

In another bowl, whisk together 4 egg yolks and 100 g of granulated sugar until the mixture becomes pale and creamy.

  3. 6

    Add Mascarpone and Vanilla

Gently fold in 500 g of mascarpone cheese and 1 tsp of vanilla extract into the egg yolk mixture until smooth.

  4. 7

    Fold in Whipped Cream

Carefully fold the whipped cream into the mascarpone mixture until fully combined, taking care not to deflate the cream.

Assemble the Tiramisu

  1. 8

    Layer the Mixture

Spread half of the mascarpone mixture over the layer of soaked ladyfingers in the dish.

  2. 9

    Add More Ladyfingers

Repeat the process with another layer of dipped ladyfingers, followed by the remaining mascarpone mixture.

  3. 10

    Chill

Cover the dish with plastic wrap and refrigerate for at least 4 hours, or overnight for best results.

Serve the Tiramisu

  1. 11

    Dust with Cocoa

Before serving, dust the top of the tiramisu with 2 tablespoons of cocoa powder and sprinkle with dark chocolate shavings.

  2. 12

    Slice and Serve

Cut into squares and serve chilled, enjoying the creamy layers and coffee flavor.
