Steak Marinade Preparation
- 1
Marinate the Steak
In a mixing bowl, combine the olive oil, minced garlic, chopped rosemary, salt, and black pepper. Coat the flank steak with the marinade and let it sit for at least 30 minutes at room temperature, or up to 2 hours in the refrigerator.
Pizzaiola Sauce Preparation
- 2
Make the Pizzaiola Sauce
In a medium saucepan, heat 2 tablespoons of olive oil over medium heat. Add the sliced onion and bell pepper. Sauté for about 5 minutes until the vegetables are softened. Assemble the Sandwich
While the steak is resting, grill the ciabatta bread slices until toasted. Layer the sliced steak on the grilled ciabatta, then top with the Pizzaiola sauce, slices of fresh mozzarella, and fresh basil leaves. Optionally, place under a broiler for a minute to melt the cheese slightly before serving.
