Method
Meatball Preparation
- 1
Mix the Meatball Ingredients
In a large mixing bowl, combine the ground pork, ground beef, grated Parmesan cheese, bread crumbs, minced garlic, chopped parsley, salt, and black pepper. Add one egg to the mixture.
- 2
Form the Meatballs
Using your hands, mix the ingredients thoroughly until well combined. Shape the mixture into meatballs, approximately 1 to 1.5 inches in diameter.
Coating and Frying
- 3
Prepare the Coatings
Set up a breading station with three bowls: one with flour, one with a beaten egg, and one with bread crumbs mixed with grated Parmesan cheese.
- 4
Coat the Meatballs
Roll each meatball in the flour, then dip it into the beaten egg, and finally coat it with the breadcrumb and Parmesan mixture. Ensure each meatball is evenly coated.
- 5
Heat the Oil
In a deep frying pan or pot, heat the vegetable oil over medium-high heat until it reaches 180°C (350°F).
- 6
Fry the Meatballs
Carefully add the coated meatballs to the hot oil, frying in batches if necessary. Fry for about 4-5 minutes, or until golden brown and cooked through.
- 7
Drain and Serve
Remove the meatballs from the oil and place them on a plate lined with paper towels to drain excess oil. Serve hot, dusted with additional grated Parmesan cheese if desired.
