Method

Preparing the Bruschetta Topping

  1. 1

    Chop the Tomatoes

Dice the Roma tomatoes into small pieces and place them in a mixing bowl.

  2. 2

    Prepare the Basil

Finely chop the fresh basil leaves and add them to the bowl with the diced tomatoes.

  3. 3

    Add Garlic

Mince the garlic cloves and add them to the tomato and basil mixture.

  4. 4

    Season the Mixture

Drizzle in the extra virgin olive oil and balsamic vinegar. Add salt and black pepper to taste. Stir the mixture gently to combine.

  5. 5

    Marinate

Let the mixture sit for at least 15 minutes to allow the flavors to meld together.

Grilling the Bread

  1. 6

    Prepare the Baguette

Slice the baguette diagonally into 1/2 inch thick slices.

  2. 7

    Brush with Olive Oil

Brush both sides of each slice with olive oil.

  3. 8

    Grill the Bread

Preheat the grill to medium-high heat. Place the oiled bread slices on the grill and cook for about 2-3 minutes on each side, or until grill marks appear and the bread is toasted.

Assembly

  1. 9

    Top the Grilled Bread

Remove the grilled bread from the grill and place on a serving platter. Spoon the marinated tomato and basil mixture generously on top of each slice.

  2. 10

    Drizzle with Balsamic

Drizzle additional balsamic vinegar over the bruschetta for extra flavor.

  3. 11

    Serve

Serve immediately while the bread is warm and enjoy your delicious grilled bruschetta!
