Cocktail Preparation

Chill the Glass
Begin by chilling your cocktail glass. You can do this by filling it with ice water and setting it aside while you prepare the drink.

Combine Ingredients
In a mixing glass, combine 2 oz of Buffalo Trace Bourbon, 1 oz of sweet vermouth, and 2 dashes of Angostura bitters.

Add Ice
Fill the mixing glass with ice cubes (about 1 cup) to chill the mixture.

Stir the Mixture
Stir the mixture gently for about 30 seconds, until well chilled.

Strain into Glass
Remove the ice water from your chilled cocktail glass and strain the mixture into the glass using a fine mesh strainer.

Twist a piece of orange peel over the drink to release its oils, then place it on the rim of the glass. Add a maraschino cherry for additional garnish.
