Method

Meatballs

  1. 1

    Prepare the Meatball Mixture

In a large bowl, combine ground pork, ground beef, breadcrumbs, grated Parmesan cheese, egg, minced garlic, chopped parsley, salt, and black pepper. Mix until well combined.

  2. 2

    Form the Meatballs

Using your hands, form the mixture into meatballs, about 1.5 inches in diameter. Place them on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper.

  3. 3

    Bake the Meatballs

Preheat the oven to 400°F (200°C). Bake the meatballs for 20-25 minutes or until browned and cooked through.

Marinara Sauce

  1. 4

    Cook the Aromatics

In a large skillet, heat olive oil over medium heat. Add chopped onion and sauté until soft, about 5 minutes. Add minced garlic and cook for another minute until fragrant.

  2. 5

    Add Tomatoes and Season

Stir in the canned crushed tomatoes, dried oregano, dried basil, salt, and black pepper. Bring to a simmer and let it cook for 15-20 minutes, stirring occasionally.

Spaghetti

  1. 6

    Cook the Spaghetti

In a large pot of salted boiling water, cook the spaghetti according to package instructions until al dente. Drain and set aside.

Assembly

  1. 7

    Combine and Serve

Add the baked meatballs to the marinara sauce and gently stir to coat. Serve the meatballs and sauce over the cooked spaghetti. Top with additional grated Parmesan cheese and chopped parsley.
