Meatballs Preparation

Combine Ingredients
In a large mixing bowl, combine ground pork, ground beef, breadcrumbs, grated Parmesan cheese, eggs, minced garlic, chopped parsley, salt, and black pepper.

Mix Well
Using your hands or a spatula, mix the ingredients until they are well combined, ensuring not to overmix.

Form Meatballs
Shape the mixture into meatballs about 1.5 inches in diameter and place them on a baking sheet.

Sear Meatballs
In a large skillet, heat olive oil over medium heat. Add the meatballs in batches and sear them until browned on all sides, about 5-7 minutes. Remove and set aside.

Add Tomatoes and Seasonings
Pour in the canned crushed tomatoes, dried oregano, salt, black pepper, and sugar. Stir to combine.

Simmer Sauce
Bring the sauce to a simmer and cook for about 10 minutes, stirring occasionally.

Combine Meatballs and Sauce
Add the browned meatballs back into the skillet with the marinara sauce. Cover and simmer for an additional 20 minutes or until the meatballs are cooked through.

Finish with Basil
Stir in the fresh basil and cook for another 2 minutes.
