Method

Dough Preparation

  1. 1

    Activate Yeast

In a small bowl, combine warm water, sugar, and yeast. Let it sit for about 5-10 minutes until foamy.

  2. 2

    Mix Dry Ingredients

In a large mixing bowl, combine gluten-free flour, xanthan gum, and salt.

  3. 3

    Combine Ingredients

Add the yeast mixture and olive oil to the dry ingredients. Mix until a dough forms.

  4. 4

    Knead and Rise

Knead the dough for 3-5 minutes until smooth. Form it into a ball and let it rise in a warm place for about 30 minutes.

Sauce Preparation

  1. 5

    Combine Sauce Ingredients

In a saucepan, combine canned crushed tomatoes, minced garlic, dried oregano, salt, and black pepper.

  2. 6

    Cook Sauce

Simmer the sauce over low heat for about 15 minutes, stirring occasionally.

Assembling the Pizza

  1. 7

    Preheat Oven

Preheat your oven to 475°F (245°C).

  2. 8

    Shape Dough

Roll out the dough on a floured surface into a 12-inch round.

  3. 9

    Prepare for Baking

Transfer the rolled-out dough onto a pizza stone or baking sheet.

  4. 10

    Add Sauce

Spread the sauce evenly over the dough, leaving a small border around the edges.

  5. 11

    Add Toppings

Top with shredded mozzarella cheese and your chosen first two toppings.

  6. 12

    Bake Pizza

Bake in the preheated oven for 12-15 minutes until the crust is golden and cheese is bubbly.

  7. 13

    Cool and Serve

Remove the pizza from the oven and let it cool for a few minutes before slicing.
