Mojito Ingredients

Method

Mojito Preparation Steps

  1. 1

    Muddle the Mint and Sugar

In a sturdy glass, add the fresh mint leaves and granulated sugar. Use a muddler or the back of a spoon to gently press down on the mint leaves, releasing their oils while mixing them with the sugar. Be careful not to tear the leaves too much, as you want to keep the flavor without making it bitter.

  2. 2

    Add Lime Juice

Cut the lime in half and squeeze the juice from both halves into the glass over the muddled mint and sugar. You can also add lime wedges for extra flavor. Stir the mixture gently to combine the flavors.

  3. 3

    Pour in the Rum

Add the white rum to the glass and stir gently to mix with the mint, sugar, and lime juice.

  4. 4

    Add Ice

Fill the glass with ice cubes, packing them in to keep the drink cold while serving.

  5. 5

    Top with Club Soda

Pour the club soda over the ice until the glass is full. Give it a gentle stir to combine all the ingredients without disturbing the mint too much.

  6. 6

    Garnish and Serve

Garnish the drink with a sprig of fresh mint on top. Serve immediately with a straw or stirrer, and enjoy your refreshing classic mojito!
