Preparation Steps
- 1
Prepare the Beef Patty
In a mixing bowl, combine the ground beef with salt and black pepper. Divide the beef into two equal portions and shape them into patties, making a slight indentation in the center of each patty to prevent puffing during cooking.
- 2
Cook the Patties
Heat a skillet or grill over medium-high heat and add the olive oil. Once hot, add the beef patties and cook for about 4-5 minutes on one side. Flip the patties and place a slice of cheddar cheese on each. Cook for an additional 3-4 minutes or until the cheese is melted and the patties are cooked to your desired doneness.
- 3
Prepare the Buns and Toppings
While the patties are cooking, slice the tomato into thick rounds. Toast the burger buns on the grill or in a toaster until golden brown.
- 4
Assemble the Cheeseburgers
On the bottom half of each toasted bun, place a lettuce leaf, followed by the cooked patty with melted cheese, and a slice of tomato. Top with the other half of the bun.
- 5
Serve
Serve the cheeseburgers immediately with your favorite side, such as fries or a salad.
