Method

Prepare the Ingredients

  1. 1

    Cook the Meats

In a skillet over medium heat, add the diced ham and breakfast sausage. Cook until browned and heated through, about 5-7 minutes. Remove from heat and set aside.

  2. 2

    Sauté the Vegetables

In the same skillet, add a little oil if necessary, then add the diced onion and green pepper. Sauté until softened, about 3-4 minutes.

Make the Sausage Gravy

  1. 3

    Cook the Sausage

In a separate saucepan, brown the breakfast sausage over medium heat until fully cooked, about 5-7 minutes.

  2. 4

    Prepare the Gravy

Sprinkle the flour over the cooked sausage and stir to combine. Gradually add milk while stirring continuously to avoid lumps. Cook until the gravy thickens, about 3-5 minutes. Season with salt and black pepper to taste.

Assemble the Dish

  1. 5

    Combine All Ingredients

In a large baking dish, combine the cooked ham, sausage, sautéed onion, and green pepper. Mix in the shredded Swiss and cheddar cheese.

  2. 6

    Top with Gravy

Pour the sausage gravy evenly over the top of the cheese and meat mixture.

  3. 7

    Bake

Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Bake the assembled dish for about 20-25 minutes until bubbly and the cheese is melted.
