Coffee Ingredients

Method

Coffee Preparation

  1. 1

    Boil Water

In a kettle, bring 500 ml of filtered water to a boil. If using an electric kettle, set it to boil. If using a stovetop kettle, watch it closely to avoid overboiling.

  2. 2

    Add Coffee Grounds

Once the water has reached boiling point, remove it from the heat and let it sit for about 30 seconds to cool slightly. This will help prevent scalding the coffee. Add 4 tablespoons of coarsely ground coffee into the French press.

  3. 3

    Pour Water

Slowly pour the hot water over the coffee grounds in the French press, ensuring all coffee is saturated. Stir gently with a wooden or plastic spoon to mix the grounds with the water.

  4. 4

    Steep Coffee

Place the lid on the French press with the plunger pulled up. Allow the coffee to steep for about 4 minutes to extract the full flavor.

  5. 5

    Press the Plunger

After 4 minutes, press the plunger down slowly and steadily to separate the coffee grounds from the brewed coffee.

  6. 6

    Serve

Pour the freshly brewed coffee into two cups. Add milk, cream, or sugar to taste, if desired.
