Method
Waffles
- 1
Prepare the Waffle Batter
In a large mixing bowl, whisk together the all-purpose flour, baking powder, sugar, and salt until combined.
- 2
- 3
Mix Wet and Dry Ingredients
Pour the wet ingredients into the dry ingredients and stir until just combined. Do not overmix; it's okay if the batter is slightly lumpy.
- 4
Cook the Waffles
Preheat your waffle iron according to manufacturer instructions. Lightly grease it with non-stick spray or a little melted butter. Pour the recommended amount of batter onto the waffle iron and cook until golden brown and crispy. Repeat until all batter is used.
Chicken Tenders
- 5
Prepare the Chicken
In a bowl, combine flour, cornstarch, salt, black pepper, and paprika. In another bowl, whisk the egg and buttermilk together.
- 6
Coat the Chicken
Dip each chicken tender first in the buttermilk mixture, then dredge in the flour mixture to coat thoroughly.
- 7
Fry the Chicken
In a deep skillet or frying pan, heat vegetable oil over medium-high heat. Once hot, carefully add the coated chicken tenders in batches, frying until golden brown and cooked through, about 4-5 minutes per side. Transfer to a paper towel-lined plate to drain excess oil.
Brown Sugar Butter
- 8
Make the Brown Sugar Butter
In a mixing bowl, combine softened butter, brown sugar, and cinnamon. Mix well until smooth and creamy. Set aside.
Honey Caramel Sauce
- 9
- 10
Add Cream and Honey
Remove the pan from heat and carefully stir in the heavy cream and honey. Return to heat briefly, stirring until combined and smooth. Allow to cool slightly before serving.
