Waffle Preparation

  1. 1

    Mix Dry Ingredients

In a large mixing bowl, whisk together the all-purpose flour, baking powder, and salt until well combined.

  2. 2

    Combine Wet Ingredients

In a separate bowl, mix the almond milk, maple syrup, vegetable oil, and vanilla extract until smooth.

  3. 3

    Combine Mixtures

Pour the wet ingredients into the dry ingredients and gently stir until just combined. Be careful not to overmix; a few lumps are okay.

  4. 4

    Preheat Waffle Iron

Preheat your waffle iron according to the manufacturer's instructions.

  5. 5

    Cook Waffles

Lightly grease the waffle iron with a bit of vegetable oil or non-stick spray. Pour the batter into the preheated waffle iron, using about 1/2 cup per waffle, and cook until golden brown (usually about 5 minutes, depending on your waffle maker).

Serving Suggestions

  1. 6

    Prepare Toppings

While the waffles are cooking, wash and slice the fresh strawberries and banana, and measure out the blueberries and chopped pecans.

  2. 7

    Serve

Once the waffles are cooked, remove them from the waffle iron and serve immediately with your choice of fresh blueberries, sliced strawberries, banana, and chopped pecans on top.
