Method

Dough Preparation

  1. 1

    Activate Yeast

In a small bowl, combine the warm milk and sugar. Sprinkle the yeast over the top and allow it to sit for about 5 minutes until it becomes frothy.

  2. 2

    Mix Dough

In a large mixing bowl, combine the flour and salt. Add the melted butter, activated yeast mixture, and eggs. Mix until a dough forms.

  3. 3

    Knead Dough

Turn the dough out onto a floured surface and knead for about 5-7 minutes until smooth and elastic. Place in a greased bowl, cover with a cloth, and let rise in a warm place until doubled in size, about 1 hour.

Filling Preparation

  1. 4

    Prepare Filling

In a medium bowl, mix together the brown sugar and ground cinnamon. Melt the butter and set aside.

Assembly

  1. 5

    Roll Out Dough

Once the dough has risen, punch it down and roll it out into a large rectangle, approximately 16x24 inches.

  2. 6

    Add Filling

Spread the melted butter over the rolled-out dough. Evenly sprinkle the cinnamon-sugar mixture over the top.

  3. 7

    Shape Rolls

Starting from the long edge, tightly roll the dough into a log. Cut into 12 equal pieces and place them in a greased 9x13 inch baking dish.

  4. 8

    Second Rise

Cover the rolls with a cloth and let them rise again in a warm place for about 30 minutes.

Baking

  1. 9

    Preheat Oven

Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).

  2. 10

    Bake Rolls

Bake the rolls in the preheated oven for 25-30 minutes or until golden brown.

Frosting Preparation

  1. 11

    Make Frosting

In a mixing bowl, beat together the cream cheese and butter until smooth. Gradually add the powdered sugar and vanilla extract, mixing until creamy.

Serving

  1. 12

    Frost Rolls

Once the rolls are out of the oven, let them cool for a few minutes before generously spreading the cream cheese frosting over the top.

  2. 13

    Enjoy

Serve warm and enjoy your massive cinnamon roll!
