Method

Waffle Batter Preparation

  1. 1

    Mix Dry Ingredients

In a large mixing bowl, combine the all-purpose flour, baking powder, baking soda, salt, and sugar. Whisk together until well combined.

  2. 2

    Combine Wet Ingredients

In a separate bowl, beat the eggs, then add the milk, melted butter, and vanilla extract. Mix until smooth.

  3. 3

    Mix Wet and Dry

Pour the wet ingredients into the dry ingredients. Stir gently until just combined; do not overmix. The batter should be slightly lumpy.

Brown Sugar Butter Preparation

  1. 4

    Make Brown Sugar Butter

In a small bowl, combine the softened unsalted butter, brown sugar, and cinnamon. Mix well until creamy and smooth. Set aside.

Waffle Cooking

  1. 5

    Preheat Waffle Iron

Preheat your Belgian waffle iron according to the manufacturer's instructions.

  2. 6

    Cook Waffles

Once preheated, lightly grease the waffle iron with cooking spray or additional melted butter. Pour an appropriate amount of batter onto the hot waffle iron, close it, and cook for about 5-7 minutes or until golden brown and crisp.

  3. 7

    Serve

Carefully remove the waffle and place it on a serving plate. Top with a dollop of brown sugar butter and your choice of fresh blueberries, strawberries, bananas, or pecans.
