Method

French Toast

  1. 1

    Prepare the Egg Mixture

In a bowl, whisk together the eggs, milk, vanilla extract, and cinnamon until well combined.

  2. 2

    Dip the Bread

Dip each slice of Texas toast into the egg mixture, ensuring both sides are well coated.

  3. 3

    Cook the French Toast

In a skillet over medium heat, melt the butter. Place the coated bread slices in the skillet and cook until golden brown on both sides, about 3-4 minutes per side.

Filling

  1. 4

    Assemble the Sandwich

Once the French toast is cooked, place 2 oz of sliced ham and 2 oz of Swiss cheese between two slices of the cooked French toast, creating a sandwich.

Raspberry Melba Sauce

  1. 5

    Make the Sauce

In a small saucepan over medium heat, combine the fresh raspberries, sugar, and lemon juice. Cook while stirring until the raspberries break down and the sauce thickens, about 5-7 minutes. Remove from heat and let cool slightly.

Potatoes

  1. 6

    Prepare Potatoes

Wash and cube the potatoes. In a skillet, heat olive oil over medium heat. Add the cubed potatoes and season with salt and black pepper. Cook until golden and tender, about 10-15 minutes, stirring occasionally.

Garnish

  1. 7

    Serve

Plate the Monte Cristo, dust with powdered sugar, and drizzle with the house-made raspberry Melba sauce. Serve alongside the seasoned potatoes.
