Method

Preparing the French Toast

  1. 1

    Whisk the Batter

In a medium mixing bowl, whisk together the eggs, milk, vanilla extract, ground cinnamon, and a pinch of salt until fully combined and slightly frothy.

  2. 2

    Heat the Pan

In a large skillet or griddle, melt 1 tablespoon of butter over medium heat until bubbly.

  3. 3

    Dip the Bread

Dip each slice of bread into the egg mixture, allowing it to soak for about 20 seconds on each side, ensuring it’s well-coated.

  4. 4

    Cook the French Toast

Place the soaked bread slices onto the skillet. Cook for about 3-4 minutes on each side, or until golden brown and cooked through, adding more butter as needed.

Cooking the Meat

  1. 5

    Cook Bacon

In a separate skillet, cook the bacon over medium heat for about 5-7 minutes, turning occasionally, until crispy.

  2. 6

For sausage links, add them to the same skillet and cook for about 10-12 minutes, turning occasionally until browned and cooked through.

  3. 7

    Cook Ham

If using ham slices, you can add them to the skillet for the last 3-4 minutes of cooking the sausage or bacon, allowing them to heat through.

Plating

  1. 8

    Serve

On a plate, place the two slices of French toast. Top with the cooked eggs (fried, scrambled, or poached as per preference). Add your choice of meat (bacon, sausage, or ham) on the side and serve hot.
