Method

Cake

  1. 1

    Prepare the Batter

Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). In a large bowl, mix together the flour, sugar, cocoa powder, baking powder, and salt. In another bowl, whisk together the eggs, milk, oil, and vanilla extract. Gradually combine the wet and dry ingredients until smooth.

  2. 2

    Bake the Cake

Grease and flour two round cake pans. Divide the batter evenly between the pans and bake for 25-30 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean. Let the cakes cool in the pans for 10 minutes before transferring to wire racks to cool completely.

Cookies

  1. 3

Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). In a large bowl, cream together the butter, brown sugar, and granulated sugar until light and fluffy. Beat in the eggs and vanilla extract. In another bowl, mix the flour, baking soda, and salt. Gradually add the dry ingredients to the wet ingredients until just combined. Stir in the chocolate chips.

  2. 4

    Bake the Cookies

Drop spoonfuls of dough onto a baking sheet lined with parchment paper. Bake for 10-12 minutes or until the edges are golden brown. Let them cool on the baking sheet for a few minutes before transferring to a wire rack to cool completely.

Pastries

  1. 5

    Prepare the Filling

In a mixing bowl, blend the cream cheese, powdered sugar, and vanilla extract until smooth. Fold in the fresh berries gently.

  2. 6

    Assemble and Bake the Pastries

Preheat your oven to 400°F (200°C). Roll out the puff pastry sheets and cut them into squares. Place a spoonful of the cream cheese mixture in the center of each square. Fold the corners to the center and seal with an egg wash. Bake for 15-20 minutes until golden brown and puffed.
