Dough Preparation

  1. 1

    Combine Dry Ingredients

In a large mixing bowl, combine 4 cups of all-purpose flour, 1 cup of granulated sugar, 2 tablespoons of instant yeast, and 1 teaspoon of salt. Mix well.

  2. 2

    Heat Milk and Butter

In a small saucepan, heat 1 cup of whole milk and 1 tablespoon of unsalted butter over medium heat until the butter is melted and the mixture is warm, about 110°F (43°C).

  3. 3

    Mix Wet Ingredients

In a separate bowl, beat 2 large eggs. Add the warm milk mixture to the eggs and whisk to combine.

  4. 4

    Combine Wet and Dry Ingredients

Pour the wet mixture into the dry ingredients. Stir until a shaggy dough forms.

  5. 5

    Knead the Dough

Turn the dough onto a floured surface and knead for about 8-10 minutes until smooth and elastic.

  6. 6

    First Rise

Place the kneaded dough in a greased bowl, cover with a clean cloth, and let it rise in a warm place until doubled in size, about 1 hour.

Filling Preparation

  1. 7

    Prepare the Filling

In a bowl, mix together 1 cup of brown sugar and 2 tablespoons of ground cinnamon. Set aside.

  2. 8

    Roll Out the Dough

Once the dough has risen, punch it down and roll it out on a floured surface into a rectangle about 16x24 inches.

  3. 9

    Spread the Butter

Melt 1 cup of unsalted butter and spread it evenly over the rolled-out dough.

  4. 10

    Add Filling

Sprinkle the brown sugar and cinnamon mixture evenly over the buttered dough.

  5. 11

    Roll the Dough

Starting from the long edge, roll the dough tightly into a log. Pinch the seams to seal.

  6. 12

    Cut into Rolls

Using a sharp knife, cut the log into 5 equal pieces and place them in a greased baking pan.

  7. 13

    Second Rise

Cover the pan with a cloth and let the rolls rise for another 30 minutes.

Baking and Glazing

  1. 14

    Preheat Oven

Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).

  2. 15

    Bake the Rolls

Bake the rolls in the preheated oven for 25-30 minutes or until golden brown.

  3. 16

    Prepare the Glaze

In a mixing bowl, whisk together 2 cups of powdered sugar, 4 tablespoons of whole milk, and 1 teaspoon of vanilla extract until smooth.

  4. 17

    Glaze the Rolls

Once the rolls are baked and slightly cooled, drizzle the glaze over the warm rolls.
