    Preheat the Oven

Preheat your oven to 200°C (400°F).

  2. 2

In a skillet over medium heat, sauté the diced onion until translucent, about 5-7 minutes.

  1. 3

    Layer the Tater Tots

In a large baking dish, spread the frozen tater tots evenly across the bottom.

  2. 4

Sprinkle the dried sage, thyme, and sautéed onion evenly over the tater tots.

  3. 5

    Add Cheddar Cheese

Sprinkle 200g of shredded cheddar cheese over the top of the tater tot layer.

  4. 6

    Top with Chicken Sausage

Evenly distribute the sliced chicken sausage over the cheese.

Baking

  1. 7

    Bake the Casserole

Place the casserole in the preheated oven and bake for 25-30 minutes, until the tater tots are golden and crispy.

Final Topping

  1. 8

    Prepare the Egg Mixture

In a bowl, whisk together the eggs and sour cream until well combined.

  2. 9

    Add Egg Mixture

Pour the egg and sour cream mixture over the baked casserole, spreading it evenly.

  3. 10

    Top with Additional Cheese

Sprinkle the remaining 100g of shredded cheddar cheese on top.

  4. 11

    Return to Oven

Return the casserole to the oven and bake for an additional 10-15 minutes, until the eggs are set and the cheese is melted.
