Method

Preparation

  1. 1

    Cook the Bacon

In a skillet over medium heat, cook the bacon slices until crispy, about 8-10 minutes. Drain on paper towels and set aside.

  2. 2

    Prepare the Avocado

Slice the avocados in half, remove the pit, and scoop the flesh into a bowl. Mash lightly with a fork and season with salt and black pepper to taste.

  3. 3

    Slice the Tomato

Wash and slice the tomatoes into thin rounds.

  4. 4

    Soften the Cream Cheese

Allow the cream cheese to sit at room temperature for about 15 minutes to soften for easy spreading.

Assembly

  1. 5

    Spread Cream Cheese

On your choice of bread or bagel, spread a generous layer of softened cream cheese on one side.

  2. 6

    Layer Ingredients

Layer the mashed avocado, followed by slices of tomato and crispy bacon on top of the cream cheese.

  3. 7

    Add Lettuce (Optional)

If using, add a layer of lettuce on top of the bacon for added crunch.

  4. 8

    Serve

Slice the sandwich in half and serve immediately. Enjoy your California GFO!
