Waffle Batter

Method

Prepare Waffle Batter

  1. 1

    Mix Dry Ingredients

In a large bowl, whisk together the all-purpose flour, baking powder, sugar, and salt until they are well combined.

  2. 2

    Combine Wet Ingredients

In another bowl, mix the almond milk, vegetable oil, and vanilla extract until fully combined.

  3. 3

    Combine Wet and Dry Mixtures

Pour the wet mixture into the dry ingredients. Stir gently until just combined; do not overmix—the batter should be slightly lumpy.

Cook the Waffles

  1. 4

    Preheat Waffle Maker

Preheat your Belgian waffle maker according to the manufacturer’s instructions.

  2. 5

    Add Batter

Once the waffle maker is ready, lightly grease it with a non-stick spray or oil. Pour the batter into the center of the waffle maker, using enough to cover the surface but not overflow.

  3. 6

    Cook Waffles

Close the lid of the waffle maker and cook for about 4-5 minutes, or until the waffle is golden brown and crispy.

  4. 7

    Remove Waffle

Carefully remove the waffle from the waffle maker using a fork or tongs.

Serve

  1. 8

    Add Toppings

Top the hot waffle with fresh blueberries, sliced strawberries, banana slices, and chopped pecans as desired.

  2. 9

    Enjoy

Serve immediately and enjoy your delicious house-made vegan Belgian waffle!
