Dough Preparation

  1. 1

    Prepare the Yeast Mixture

In a small bowl, combine warm milk (about 110°F) with yeast and 1 tablespoon of sugar. Let sit for about 5-10 minutes until frothy.

  2. 2

    Mix Dry Ingredients

In a large mixing bowl, whisk together flour, remaining sugar, and salt.

  3. 3

    Combine Ingredients

Make a well in the center of the dry ingredients. Add the frothy yeast mixture, melted butter (let it cool slightly), and eggs. Mix until a dough forms.

  4. 4

    Knead the Dough

Turn the dough onto a floured surface and knead for about 5-7 minutes until smooth and elastic.

  5. 5

    First Rise

Place the dough in a greased bowl, cover with a damp cloth, and let rise in a warm place for 1-2 hours or until doubled in size.

Filling Preparation

  1. 6

    Prepare the Filling

In a small bowl, mix together brown sugar and ground cinnamon. Set aside.

  2. 7

    Roll Out the Dough

Once the dough has risen, punch it down and roll it out on a floured surface into a large rectangle, about 1/4 inch thick.

  3. 8

    Add the Filling

Spread the softened butter over the rolled-out dough, then sprinkle the cinnamon sugar mixture evenly on top.

  4. 9

    Roll the Dough

Starting from one long edge, tightly roll the dough into a log. Pinch the seam to seal.

  5. 10

    Cut the Rolls

Slice the log into 12 equal pieces and place them in a greased baking dish.

Baking

  1. 11

    Second Rise

Cover the baking dish with a cloth and let the rolls rise for another 30-45 minutes.

  2. 12

    Preheat the Oven

Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C).

  3. 13

    Bake the Rolls

Bake the rolls in the preheated oven for 25-30 minutes or until golden brown.

Frosting Preparation

  1. 14

    Make the Frosting

In a mixing bowl, beat together cream cheese and butter until smooth. Gradually add powdered sugar and mix until creamy. Stir in vanilla extract and milk until desired consistency is reached.

  2. 15

    Frost the Rolls

Once the rolls are baked and slightly cooled, spread the cream cheese frosting generously over the top.
