Baking Instructions
- 1
Prepare the Yeast
In a small bowl, combine warm water, sugar, and yeast. Let it sit for about 5-10 minutes until it becomes frothy.
- 2
Mix Dry Ingredients
In a large mixing bowl, whisk together flour and salt.
- 3
Combine Ingredients
Make a well in the center of the flour mixture and add the frothy yeast mixture along with olive oil. Stir until a dough begins to form.
- 4
Knead the Dough
Transfer the dough to a lightly floured surface and knead for about 8-10 minutes until smooth and elastic.
- 5
First Rise
Place the dough in a greased bowl, cover with a damp cloth, and let it rise in a warm area for about 1 hour, or until it has doubled in size.
- 6
Shape the Dough
Once risen, punch down the dough and shape it into your desired form (loaf, rolls, etc.).
- 7
Second Rise
Place shaped dough on a baking sheet or in a loaf pan, cover, and let it rise for another 30 minutes.
- 8
Preheat the Oven
Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C).
- 9
Bake
Bake the dough in the preheated oven for 25-30 minutes, or until golden brown and sounds hollow when tapped on the bottom.
- 10
Cool and Serve
Remove from the oven and let it cool on a wire rack before slicing and serving.
