Waffle Preparation

  1. 1

    Preheat the Waffle Iron

Turn on your Belgian waffle iron to preheat it according to the manufacturer's instructions.

  2. 2

    Mix Dry Ingredients

In a large mixing bowl, whisk together the all-purpose flour, baking powder, salt, and sugar until well combined.

  3. 3

    Combine Wet Ingredients

In another bowl, beat the eggs, then add the milk, melted butter, and vanilla extract. Mix until well blended.

  4. 4

    Combine Mixtures

Pour the wet ingredients into the bowl with the dry ingredients. Stir gently until just combined; do not overmix. The batter may be slightly lumpy.

  5. 5

    Cook the Waffles

Lightly grease the preheated waffle iron with cooking spray or additional melted butter. Pour the appropriate amount of batter onto the center of the waffle iron (usually 1 cup, but check your iron's instructions). Close the lid and cook until the waffles are golden brown and crispy, about 5 minutes.

  6. 6

    Serve

Carefully remove the waffles from the iron using a fork or tongs. Serve immediately with maple syrup drizzled on top.
