Salad Preparation
- 1
Prepare the Romaine Lettuce
Wash the romaine lettuce under cold water. Dry thoroughly using a salad spinner or paper towels. Chop the lettuce into bite-sized pieces and place in a large salad bowl.
- 2
Add Cherry Tomatoes
Slice the cherry tomatoes in half and add them to the bowl with the chopped romaine lettuce.
Crouton Preparation
- 3
Make the Croutons
Preheat the oven to 375°F (190°C). Cut the French bread into small cubes and place them in a mixing bowl. Drizzle with olive oil, then sprinkle with garlic powder and salt. Toss until the bread is evenly coated.
- 4
Bake the Croutons
Spread the coated bread cubes on a baking sheet in a single layer. Bake in the preheated oven for 10-15 minutes or until golden brown and crispy, stirring halfway through for even cooking. Remove from the oven and let cool.
Dressing Preparation
- 5
Make the Dressing
In a medium bowl, combine mayonnaise, lemon juice, grated Parmesan cheese, Worcestershire sauce, minced garlic cloves, and black pepper. Whisk until smooth and well combined.
Assembly
- 6
Combine and Serve
Add the cooled croutons to the bowl with the romaine and tomatoes. Drizzle the dressing over the salad and toss gently to combine. Serve immediately, garnished with extra Parmesan cheese if desired.
