Prep the Tomatoes
Wash and dice the fresh tomatoes into small cubes. Place them in a mixing bowl.

Add Flavorings
Mince the garlic cloves and add them to the bowl with the diced tomatoes. Tear the basil leaves into smaller pieces and add them to the bowl as well.

Season the Mixture
Add balsamic vinegar, salt, and black pepper to the tomato mixture. Gently stir to combine all the ingredients and let it sit for about 10 minutes for the flavors to meld.

Preheat the Oven
Preheat your oven to 400°F (200°C).

Slice the Bread
Slice the baguette or ciabatta loaf into 1-inch thick slices.

Brush with Olive Oil
Place the bread slices on a baking sheet and brush each slice with olive oil on one side.

Toast the Bread
Place the baking sheet in the preheated oven and toast the bread for about 5-7 minutes, or until golden brown. Keep an eye on it to prevent burning.

Top the Toasts
Once the bread is toasted, remove it from the oven and let it cool slightly. Spoon the prepared tomato mixture onto each slice of toasted bread.
