Method
Prepare Glass
- 1
Build the Cocktail
- 2
Fill the prepared glass with ice to the top (about 1 cup).
- 3
In a mixing glass or shaker, combine 2 oz Patrón Reposado, 1 oz fresh lime juice, and 0.5 oz agave syrup. Add a few ice cubes to the shaker.
- 4
Shake vigorously for about 8–10 seconds—just enough to chill and dilute slightly. You can also stir briefly if you prefer less dilution.
- 5
Strain the tequila-lime-agave mixture into the ice-filled glass.
- 6
Top gently with 4 oz chilled grapefruit soda. Pour slowly to preserve carbonation and avoid overflow; stir once gently with a bar spoon to combine.
Garnish & Serve
- 7
Garnish with a lime wheel or wedge on the rim and, if desired, a grapefruit twist or wedge. Serve immediately with a straw or without, and provide a small spoon or stirrer for the guest to adjust sweetness.
- 8
Taste and adjust: if you prefer sweeter, add an extra 0.25 oz agave; for more tartness, squeeze an additional 0.25 oz lime juice and stir.
