Cocktail
- 1
Chill glass (optional)
If you prefer a colder drink, place a copper mule mug or highball glass in the freezer for 5–10 minutes before preparing the cocktail.
- 2
Fill the chilled mug or highball glass about three-quarters full with ice (approximately 1 cup).
- 3
Measure and pour 2 oz Patrón Silver tequila over the ice.
- 4
Add 0.75 oz freshly squeezed lime juice. To get this amount, juice half to three-quarters of a medium lime depending on juiciness.
- 5
Add 0.5 oz agave syrup. If your agave is very viscous, warm the bottle briefly or stir well to measure accurately.
- 6
Gently pour in about 4 oz ginger beer to top the drink, pouring slowly along the side of the glass to preserve carbonation.
- 7
Use a bar spoon to gently stir the cocktail 6–8 slow rotations to combine tequila, lime, and agave with the ginger beer without flattening it.
Garnish & Serve
- 8
Express the oils of a lime wheel by pinching it skin-side down over the drink, then drop the wheel or place a lime wedge on the rim.
- 9
Optional: slap a mint sprig between your palms to release aroma and tuck it into the drink as a fragrant garnish.
- 10
Serve immediately with a short straw or stirrer. Enjoy.
