Tiramisu Directions
- 1
Prepare the Coffee
Brew a strong cup of coffee and let it cool to room temperature. If using coffee liqueur, mix it into the coffee once cooled.
- 2
Whip the Egg Yolks
In a mixing bowl, separate the egg yolks from the whites. Add the granulated sugar to the egg yolks and whisk until the mixture is pale and creamy.
- 3
Add Mascarpone
Gently fold the mascarpone cheese into the egg yolk mixture until well combined. Add vanilla extract and mix until smooth.
- 4
- 5
Soak Ladyfingers
Dip each ladyfinger briefly into the cooled coffee mixture, ensuring they are soaked but not soggy.
- 6
Layer the Ingredients
In a rectangular dish, create a layer of soaked ladyfingers at the bottom. Spread half of the mascarpone mixture over the ladyfingers.
- 7
Repeat Layers
Add another layer of soaked ladyfingers on top of the mascarpone, followed by the remaining mascarpone mixture.
- 8
Chill the Tiramisu
Cover the dish with plastic wrap and refrigerate for at least 4 hours, or ideally overnight, to allow the flavors to meld.
- 9
Serve
Before serving, dust the top with cocoa powder and enjoy your classic tiramisu!
