Pasta

Method

Pasta Preparation

  1. 1

    Cook Bucatini

Bring a large pot of salted water to a boil. Add the bucatini pasta and cook according to package instructions until al dente, usually about 8-10 minutes. Reserve 1 cup of pasta water, then drain the pasta.

Sauce Preparation

  1. 2

    Sauté Garlic and Shrimp

In a large skillet over medium heat, melt the unsalted butter. Add the minced garlic and red chili flakes, sautéing for about 1 minute until fragrant. Add the shrimp and season with salt and black pepper. Cook for 2-3 minutes until the shrimp are pink and opaque.

  2. 3

    Add Tomatoes and Basil

Stir in the halved cherry tomatoes and cook for an additional 2 minutes until they start to soften. Add the chopped basil and stir to combine.

  3. 4

    Combine Pasta and Sauce

Add the drained bucatini to the skillet with the shrimp and tomato mixture. Toss to combine, adding reserved pasta water a little at a time until desired sauciness is achieved.

  4. 5

    Finish with Parmesan

Remove the skillet from heat and stir in the grated Parmesan cheese, mixing until melted and creamy. Adjust seasoning with additional salt and pepper if necessary.
