Cook the Pasta
In a large pot, bring salted water to a boil. Add the elbow macaroni and cook according to package instructions until al dente. Drain and set aside.

Add Milk
Gradually whisk in the milk, ensuring there are no lumps. Continue to cook, stirring frequently, until the mixture thickens and starts to bubble.

Incorporate Cream Cheese
Add the cream cheese to the sauce and stir until completely melted and combined.

Add Cheddar and Seasonings
Stir in the white cheddar cheese, salt, black pepper, garlic powder, and onion powder until the cheese is fully melted and the sauce is smooth.
Combine and Bake

Combine Pasta and Sauce
Add the cooked macaroni back into the pot with the cheese sauce. Stir until the pasta is fully coated with the sauce.

Prepare for Baking
Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C). Transfer the mac and cheese mixture into a greased baking dish.

Add Toppings
Sprinkle the crumbled bacon and shredded cheddar cheese on top of the mac and cheese.

Bake in the preheated oven for 20-25 minutes until the top is golden and bubbly. If adding Buffalo or BBQ chicken, mix it into the mac and cheese before baking.
