Main Ingredients

Glaze Ingredients

Method

Preparation of the Glaze

  1. 1

    Make the Glaze

In a medium saucepan over medium heat, combine the brown sugar, honey, Dijon mustard, apple cider vinegar, and ground black pepper.

  2. 2

    Cook the Glaze

Stir the mixture until the brown sugar is fully dissolved and the glaze is smooth. Bring to a gentle boil, then reduce heat and let it simmer for 5-7 minutes until it thickens slightly.

Grilling the Ham Steak

  1. 3

    Prepare the Grill

Preheat your grill to medium-high heat.

  2. 4

    Glaze the Ham Steak

Brush the ham steak generously with the prepared glaze on both sides.

  3. 5

    Grill the Ham Steak

Place the glazed ham steak on the grill. Grill for about 5-7 minutes on each side, or until it is heated through and has nice grill marks.

Preparing the Pineapple

  1. 6

    Prepare the Pineapple

While the ham is grilling, cut the fresh pineapple into rings or wedges.

  2. 7

    Grill the Pineapple (Optional)

If desired, brush the pineapple pieces with a little glaze and grill them for 2-3 minutes on each side until caramelized.

Serving

  1. 8

    Serve the Dish

Once the ham steak is done grilling, remove it from the grill and let it rest for a few minutes. Serve the ham steak with the grilled pineapple on the side and drizzle any remaining glaze over the top.
